Host a Presidents Day Protest to Fight Trump’s Fake Crisis and Racist Deportation Force

Trump’s undemocratic power grab to secure his racist border wall is a direct attack on our democracy and immigrant families. Terrifyingly, this declaration could allow him to seize massive emergency powers to erode the foundations of our democracy, increase funding for more anti-immigrant policies, and launch more attacks on communities.

Let’s be clear: Trump is the real national emergency. In crisis moments like this—when a president abuses power so egregiously—how the citizenry responds in the immediate aftermath can shape the course of our country’s history. That's why MoveOn members and allies are launching hundreds of events all across the country Monday, February 18 at noon. Together, we will say NO to Trump’s power grabs, NO to his racist border wall, NO to xenophobia, and NO to HATE.

We are encouraging no more than one event take place per city, to minimize the amount of time spent on logistics and maximize the size of each crowd. If an event already exists near you, contact an existing event host to offer assistance after RSVPing to the event. That person can add attendees as co-hosts if they are able to offer additional organizing support.

Here are the rules for hosting events:

The events will be sponsored by MoveOn.org, a national organization that provides support and mobilization tools to grassroots organizers across the United States, in coordination with partner organizations. MoveOn relies on volunteer event hosts to plan and organize the events that it sponsors; those volunteer hosts, and not MoveOn, are the sole organizers of all events on this site unless MoveOn expressly indicates that it is organizing a specific event.

By submitting this form you agree, as the host of a MoveOn event, that:

You are responsible for planning and supervising your event and ensuring that it is carried out in a safe and legal manner;
You will adhere to MoveOn's Host Principles and Commitments;
You will not request or direct, or knowingly permit anyone acting on your or your organization’s behalf to request or direct, any participant at your events to engage in any unlawful activity, including unlawful nonviolent direct action;
You will obtain any permits required for your event;
You will communicate and coordinate with local law enforcement authorities to make them aware of your events and offer to coordinate and cooperate with them in arranging for security of event participants and the public, to the extent applicable and necessary; and
Although MoveOn is a sponsor of your event, MoveOn does not authorize or adopt any statements or conduct made or undertaken by you or attendees at your event.
In no event will MoveOn be responsible or liable for any injury to any person or damages to any property occurring in the course of, or by reason of events you organize as a MoveOn event host.
